Update on COVID-19 and Patient/Public Engagement

We are posting this update about the current situation around the COVID-19 outbreak and patient/public engagement at Vancouver Coastal Health.

Engagement opportunities often feature in-person meetings/events; we encourage everyone to heed the latest advice from officials and site restrictions regarding whether they should still take place, and to consider if they could be accomplished through online platforms or teleconferences. We would also like to stress that some engagement activities may not proceed in the original timelines due to the demand for support to the COVID-19 response. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

As things change and priorities shift quickly, meetings and events are getting cancelled sometimes with very little notice. We ask everyone to check in with project leads to learn the status of meetings and projects. This is a challenging time for the health care system and British Columbians. We thank you for taking steps to keep yourself, your community and your loved ones safe and healthy.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Saori at ce@nullvch.ca.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Sorry, but I would think that it would be the responsibility of project leads to let the members of that project know what the status of the project and meetings is. Or perhaps to let CAEN know so that you could publish a status report to advisors of some sort. Do they really want everyone involved emailing them to ask what is happening?? As a family member advisor I have received no formal information from the leads of any of the projects I have been advising on. I have assumed that everything has simply ground to a halt. The only info I received was re the tertiary leadership committee saying meetings were suspended until further notice.

Thanks Pat - I agree it should be the responsibility of the leads to let all committee members know what's happening. I have asked leads to connect with CEANs, but as you have shared this might not be happening while things are still on hold. Will send another reminder. Hope you are well!
